Children's art
Face-painting, snacking, dancing, drumming, and hands-on art projects led by master heritage artists! TMY is full of activities for kids.

We offer some specific activities and performances below, but we recommend exploring the whole festival to get children excited about the rich cultural diversity of Tucson.

FOLK ARTS:

  • Visit masters of manual arts on Church Street. Many traditional artists offer hands-on activities at their tables. Explore origami, Arabic calligraphy, Henna body decorations, Navajo bead bracelets, and Mexican paper flowers, among many others.

PERFORMANCE:

  • Kids will be mesmerized by the sounds of Japanese Taiko drums (Saturday 5PM).
  • Get into the movements of the Brazilian martial art called Capoeira (Saturday 4PM)
  • Delight kids with the acrobatics of the Chinese Lion Dance (Saturday 11AM).
  • See children express themselves through dance: Japanese (Sunday 3PM), Irish (Sunday 12:30PM), American Pop (Sunday 11AM), Tohono O’odham (Sunday 5PM).
